are you gonna respond to these?

My mom called me yesterday asking if I'm gonna respond to any of those RFPs (she's on this email list).

I explained that building websites wasn't exactly my business model, but if it was, I would.

Here's why...

Most RFPs look like a chore and in many cases they are. Which means there is often very little competition.

In fact, according to this report on the State of RFP 2019, the avg RFP received only 4 submissions and 12% received only 1.

But don't take my word for it, here's an email I received yesterday that illustrates this first-hand...

Hi Omari - Thanks for this blog! I bid for a pseudo government transportation agency new site with an RFP similar to these. Only three other bidders. I won the project - which was $45k. Did it all on SQSP. https://www.highvalleytransit.org/
I find that in many cases, these nonprofits think they need more than they actually do and MOST devote no budget to web maintenance or help after they launch. So, having a SQSP site and teaching them how to do a lot themselves is better than them trying to learn WordPress or Webflow. I also have another project in which SQSP couldn’t do it all so I hired developers to write me a custom script for an API I was using and it’ll cost $3k for that, but when the whole project is $12k and less than 10 pages it’s worth it.

Amazing right?

Here's another look at those RFPs I shared yesterday.

And when you're ready to jump in, try Folyo Agency Leads.

Your next project could be in there.

Peace,

Omari
