A retreat website has to make the place and the experience feel connected. A beautiful room alone can look like a hotel. A page about personal transformation alone can look like coaching. The most useful starting point depends on whether you're selling a stay, a scheduled retreat, or a practitioner-led experience.
Suffolk is our first choice when the destination is the main attraction. Barbosa offers a more design-conscious hospitality presentation, while Colima and Jenani suit retreats where the practice or facilitator should lead.
1. Suffolk — A destination with a sense of place
Suffolk — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.
Suffolk introduces a rustic retreat through a large photograph framed by a warm, quiet page. The opening gives a clear sense of the property, then moves into a substantial written introduction. Gallery and visit links are easy to identify.
We'd choose it for a countryside retreat or a property whose setting is central to the experience. It lets the destination feel tangible before asking someone to explore the details. It is a hospitality demo, so a scheduled wellness program would need its own content structure. The visual foundation, however, is already about going somewhere.

2. Barbosa — A design-led retreat property
Barbosa — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.
Barbosa's dark opening and large interior photograph feel more architectural and hotel-like than Suffolk. Its short statement gives the property an assured, contemporary identity.
That can suit a retreat with distinctive interiors, a boutique setting, or a more polished hospitality brand. We'd choose Suffolk for warmth and Barbosa for a more designed impression. Neither is automatically a complete retreat-event page; the reason to shortlist them is how well they introduce the place where the experience happens.

3. Colima — A retreat built around yoga or movement
Colima — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.
Colima's opening shows practice in a recognizable room, with a calm palette and class-oriented structure. The activity is immediately part of the visual story rather than something added to a hotel website later.
We'd choose it when the retreat is primarily about yoga, movement, or a teaching practice. The destination can support that story rather than dominate it. Compared with Suffolk, Colima is less about accommodation and more about what participants will do together. That distinction matters when the same facilitator offers several retreats in different places.

4. Jenani — A facilitator-led experience
Jenani — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.
Jenani's expressive serif typography and earthy visual treatment give an individual practitioner's approach room to come through. It feels personal and conceptual rather than like a conventional hospitality business.
We'd consider it for a small retreat led by one recognizable teacher or healer. It is a less natural fit for a large destination with many rooms and several programs. The layout makes most sense when people are choosing the facilitator and their philosophy as much as the venue.

5. Vitality — A paid wellness direction
Vitality — seller-provided preview, credited to The Look & The Feel.
Vitality by The Look & The Feel is worth comparing when the retreat is part of a broader wellness practice. We'd use its design as a starting point for a coherent brand across services and retreats. A destination-first business should still compare it carefully with the hospitality options above.

Decide what people are choosing
If the answer is the place, we'd start with Suffolk and Barbosa. If it is the teaching or the facilitator, Colima and Jenani are more natural. Vitality belongs on the shortlist when the retreat lives within an established wellness brand.
