Best Squarespace Templates for Restaurants

Restaurant websites should make you want to go there. Some do that through the food, some through the room, and some through a very particular personality. Squarespace has enough restaurant demos that you don't need to start with an unrelated service-business page.

Auburn is our first pick for a restaurant with strong food photography. Atlantic feels more like a familiar neighborhood restaurant, Chotto takes a deliberately spare approach, and Hemlock has the most playful personality in this shortlist.

1. Auburn — Let the food make the first impression

Auburn fills the opening with a close-up dish, a short headline, and a dark, restrained setting. Reservations, menu, and location are visible in the header. The image is appetizing without being surrounded by several competing promotions.

We'd choose it for a restaurant with a well-photographed signature dish or a consistent visual identity. The design gives the food room to look important. It is less forgiving if your available images are small, inconsistent, or dominated by interiors. Atlantic is the more balanced alternative when you want the room and practical details to share the introduction.

2. Atlantic — A straightforward neighborhood restaurant

Atlantic — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Atlantic pairs a large food photograph with clear menu and reservation links, then introduces the restaurant in a compact information section. The opening feels familiar and direct rather than highly art-directed.

That makes it a strong choice for an established local restaurant whose website mainly needs to represent the place well. We'd choose it when the food and the welcome matter more than an unusual visual concept. Auburn makes the opening image feel more dramatic; Atlantic gives the business a more conventional, easy-to-read frame.

3. Chotto — A spare, distinctive opening

Chotto — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Chotto leaves a great deal of white space around a centered address and a single food photograph. The type is compact and the navigation is plain. The restaurant feels specific without needing a long introduction.

We'd consider it for a small restaurant with a focused identity and strong imagery. The address-first treatment gives the page a sense of place immediately. It would be a weaker starting point for a business that needs the first screen to explain several venues or a large range of offers. Its appeal is the restraint.

4. Hemlock — A restaurant with a playful identity

Hemlock — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Hemlock combines a pale yellow background, expressive orange lettering, and an unusually shaped image frame. The restaurant's personality arrives through the typography as much as the photograph.

We'd choose it for a café, bar, or restaurant that already has a lively visual identity. It is more memorable than a neutral layout, but it needs the brand to support that choice. If you intend to replace all the expressive elements with conventional styling, Atlantic may be a more sensible starting point.

5. Juniper — The atmosphere of the dining room

Juniper — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Juniper opens on a softly lit restaurant photograph with just a few large words and the location. It feels like an invitation into an evening rather than an introduction to a menu.

That can work well for a restaurant whose room and atmosphere are a major part of the appeal. We'd choose it when the website can be concise and the photographs carry the story. A business with extensive explanatory content may prefer Atlantic's more conventional introduction.

6. Chuckwagon — A paid restaurant-focused alternative

Chuckwagon — seller-provided preview, credited to Strong Sites.

Chuckwagon by Strong Sites is aimed at food businesses, including restaurants and food trucks. We'd compare it when you want a more deliberately branded starting point than the native options. Its relevance comes from being designed around food businesses, rather than asking you to repurpose an unrelated portfolio.

Where we'd start

Choose Auburn for food photography, Atlantic for a straightforward local restaurant, and Chotto for a smaller, more restrained presentation. Hemlock brings personality; Juniper makes the atmosphere the main event. Chuckwagon is the paid alternative we'd open alongside them.
