Best Squarespace Templates for Makeup Artists

We may earn a commission if you buy or sign up through links on this page.

A bridal makeup artist, an editorial artist, and someone teaching makeup courses can all use Squarespace. They probably shouldn't start with the same kind of homepage. The difference is what a visitor needs to see first: finished looks, the artist, a team, or an invitation to learn.

Reseda is our first pick for a portfolio-led makeup business. Kusa is a stronger match for an artist selling education. Beaumont offers a quieter gallery, while Ortiz makes a more personal introduction.

1. Reseda — An editorial portfolio with presence

Reseda's enormous lettering and carefully arranged photographs give it the confidence of a creative studio. The photography demo keeps services and gallery links visible, so the portfolio isn't completely detached from the business behind it.

For a makeup artist, that combination is useful: the looks can lead without leaving someone wondering whether they can hire you. We'd choose it for editorial work or a distinct visual specialty. It needs a consistent body of photographs; a mixture of unrelated crops and image quality will be more noticeable in such an assertive design.

2. Kusa — Makeup education and courses

Kusa — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Kusa is the most directly relevant beauty demo here. Its dark background, layered portraits, and italic headline introduce makeup courses, with education called out in the opening button and navigation.

That makes it a better fit for an educator than a service-only artist. The composition has more visual drama than Beaumont and more of an offer-led structure than a simple portfolio. We'd shortlist it when lessons or a training program are central to the business, rather than trying to make every visitor enter through a course-oriented introduction.

3. Beaumont — A restrained gallery of finished work

Beaumont — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Beaumont gives a small grid of projects a calm, uncluttered setting. The white background and quiet headings leave color and texture to the images. It's an attractive contrast to the darker, more layered Kusa demo.

We'd choose it for bridal or commercial work where the photographs are consistent and the artist doesn't need a long homepage pitch. Grouping work into a few meaningful collections will feel more deliberate than presenting every recent look. Our portfolio template guide includes other layouts with a similarly image-led approach.

4. Ortiz — The artist as part of the appeal

Ortiz — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Ortiz pairs a large portrait with oversized serif lettering and a clear booking button. The composition feels fashion-conscious but personal: you meet the professional before going deeper into the gallery.

That can work particularly well when clients are choosing both the look and the experience of working with you. The demo is a photographer's website, so it would need makeup-specific services. Its advantage over Beaumont is the prominence of the person, not a different set of platform features.

5. Emmeline — A team or beauty studio

Emmeline — official demo, captured October 18, 2026.

Emmeline's salon structure makes sense for a makeup team with several artists and services. Its warm colors and curved image framing feel approachable, with team information visible in the header.

We'd choose it when the business needs to introduce more than one person or explain several ways to book. Reseda is more visually forceful; Emmeline is friendlier and more obviously a local service business. The distinction matters if visitors need to choose an artist rather than simply admire a portfolio.

6. Focus — A paid option for a bolder personal brand

Focus — seller-provided preview, credited to The Look & The Feel.

Focus by The Look & The Feel is another direction for an artist whose identity extends beyond client appointments. We'd consider its expressive styling for a business combining services, teaching, and personal content. It is a coaching-oriented adaptation, rather than a makeup-specific design.

Our shortlist

Open Reseda first if the portfolio is the main selling point. Compare it with Ortiz if your own presence is important, and Beaumont if you want the page to recede behind the work. Kusa is the clear education-led option; Emmeline suits a team.
