Squarespace business for sale: Acquire SQSPThemes.com

After 11 years of building SQSPThemes, I’m looking for the right person to take it over and build the next version of it.

For most of its life, SQSPThemes was built around plugins. Those products now live separately.

What remains is the distribution engine.

That includes:

17,000+ customers
5,000+ newsletter subscribers
An established Facebook community
Years of content and organic search presence
Existing affiliate and sponsor relationships
11 years of brand recognition across the Squarespace ecosystem

And it’s still producing revenue.

Over the last 12 months, affiliate partnerships and sponsored content generated just over $30,000 in revenue. Roughly $23,000 of that came from affiliate partnerships, which are largely passive and continue to produce revenue from traffic and content already in place.

Squarespace, Elfsight and Weglot have been among the largest affiliate partners.

The opportunity

What makes this especially interesting now is that the distribution is no longer built around a single product line.

For years, SQSPThemes used its audience and traffic primarily to sell its own plugins.

Now the next owner gets to decide what that distribution engine points toward.

Maybe that means putting it behind an existing product or business. Maybe it means expanding the affiliate and sponsorship side. Maybe it becomes a larger media company, marketplace, education business, membership, software company, or something I haven’t considered.

That part is open.

What you’d be acquiring

The exact structure will depend on the buyer, but the core acquisition would include the SQSPThemes brand and domain, website and content library, customer database, newsletter audience, Facebook community, organic search presence, affiliate infrastructure, sponsor relationships, and associated brand and social assets.

The plugin products themselves are not included.

I’ll also be involved in the transition to help the next owner understand the audience, existing relationships, revenue streams and opportunities inside the business.

There’s a lot of context behind 11 years in this ecosystem, and I want that knowledge to transfer along with the assets.
